The Ga. Division of Aging Services has recently created a certification program to equip primary and secondary responders with the knowledge and skills to address the needs of at-risk adult crime victims.
A Certified ACT (at-risk adult crime tactics) Specialist learns about joint accounts and legal documents, undue influence, power of attorney, mandated reporting, suspicious deaths, and an array of issues related to the approximately 2.5 million adults at risk in the state.
This is a multi-disciplinary program involving police agencies and the court system.
