Really short workouts

Don’t have time for a 30-minute or 60-minute workout routine? Try H.I.I.T., which stands for High-intensity interval training. It’s based on the idea that short bursts of strenuous exercise can have a big impact on the body. You can try it with any aerobic activity, be it running, biking, stair climbing, swimming, even skipping.

You’re required to push your body near its limit but it’s not a run-till-your-lungs-pop explosion, either, writes Tara Parker-Pope in the New York Times. Think breathless, not winded. Heart-pounding, not exploding. Use cues from your body as a guide. In the middle of the workout you should be able to say single words but not whole sentences. There’s help too with a variety of apps like the 7-minute workout and the 9-minute workout.
