BoomAthens and Rabbit Box team up

BoomAthens and Rabbit Box team upBoomAthens and Rabbit Box, the storytelling collective, are teaming up for the Sept. 12 show to benefit Live Forward, formerly AIDS Athens. Doors open at 5 p.m. at The Foundry. There will be a Ping Pong exhibition at 5:30 on the patio; at 6, interviews onstage, and the storytelling begins at 7. Admission is $7 to benefit Living Positive.

Broadway Series announced

Broadway Series announcedThe Classic Center has announced their Broadway Entertainment Series season line-up for 2018-19. The national tour productions include Million Dollar Quartet, Cirque Dreams Holidaze, Jersey Boys, Cinderella, and Finding Neverland. Town & Gown Players Present

Town and Gown Players PresentServant of Two Masters is a wild and silly farce of mistaken identities, long lost lovers, angry fathers, a little cross dressing and one very hungry servant. It’s an 18thcentury play but with a modern sense of humor. Performances are Aug. 10-11, 16-18, and matinee performances Aug. 12 and 19. Tickets are $15 at www.townandgownplayers.org. Artist in Residence

Artist in ResidenceWUGA’s Artist in Residence series continues on Aug. 25 when conceptual artist and graphic designer Michael Oliveri will open his home from 3 – 5 p.m. as a benefit for WUGA radio. An associate professor at the UGA art school, Oliveri has designed surfboards, furniture, and much more; he’s the founder of the school’s ArtX program, where students meld creativity with technical experimentation. Athens Ghost Tours

Starting in September, history buff Jeff Clarke and other costumed tour guides will take you on a 45-minute walk through downtown starting at the Athens Welcome Center and ending up at Creature Comforts. Last year’s tours were sold out so book early. The tour is for all ages and considered moderate exercise. For dates and times, call the Welcome Center at 706.353.1820.
